As we are expanding our Corporate Sustainability team, we are looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Sustainability Specialist to join the team.

About this role

In this role you will work in a cross-functional setting on various sustainability matters, with a focus on compliance with the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). If you are passionate about Sustainability and would like to contribute to various ESG initiatives such as our decarbonization strategy, this is a great opportunity to contribute to Wolters Kluwer’s ESG priorities and goals. This position reports directly to the Compliance & Sustainability Director.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the CSRD and ESRS across the company;

  • Support activities related to the implementation CSDDD, including the design of due diligence management systems;

  • Support with ESG risk assessments, materiality assessments and climate scenario analyses;

  • Conduct (desk) research and analysis on environmental and social/human rights matters;

  • Support with the qualitative and quantitative ESG data for the Annual Report and other reports;

  • Liaise with functional owners/SMEs on sustainability initiatives, goals, and action plans;

  • Respond to stakeholder queries, including investors and ESG rating agencies and surveys;

  • Establish relationships and maintain contacts with external ESG stakeholders;

  • Support our sales teams with customer questionnaires/RFPs on ESG, including maintenance of a standard Q&A;

  • Identify trends, monitor regulatory developments and market best practices, and conduct peer benchmarks;

  • Prepare meetings, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Business, Finance, Sciences, or another related field;

  • 3-5 years of experience in a sustainability role;

  • Experience in large, complex, international organizations;

  • Extensive knowledge on environmental and social matters, particularly on climate matters and human rights;

  • Experience in conducting climate scenarios and identifying and addressing environmental and human rights issues;

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills;

  • Sound knowledge of ESG frameworks (e.g. GRI, TCFD, and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises) and GHG standards;

  • Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, working both collaboratively and independently;

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities;

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;

  • Strong presentation and writing skills;

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written;

  • High level of personal integrity, curiosity, humility, and good judgment.
